PART 2 – PechaKucha presentation

The purpose of this part of the assignment was to demonstrate the ability to design, create and deliver a PechaKucha presentation.

Key words from the brief:

  • Provide some of the context and discussion around your project
  • 20 images each for 20 seconds. The images advance automatically and the presenter talks along.
  • The subject is your work in progress
  • Start by presenting a brief outline of the project. Then it’s up to you.

What happened

From the start I’d decided to present my current project ‘Broken’ only and not include or confuse the presentation by featuring the Oli comic.

I storyboarded the 20 slides and an initial voiceover script on a Miro board.

The voiceover text was extracted into Microsoft Word where I could easily rework the copy. I timed myself and worked out a word count of around 58 words fitted into the available 20 seconds.

The slides were created in Photoshop using a 18 x 18 layout grid.

Sound was recorded using the native audio recording app on an iPhone.

Everything was edited together in Adobe Premier.
