The purpose of subject research was to rapidly generate visual ideas to accompany and support the script.

Visual chart to generate ideas
I experimented with visual charts as part of an Illustration 2 assignment. It’s a process for rapidly generating ideas.
Instructions
- Draw a grid on a sheet of paper 6 x boxes by 6 x boxes of equal sizes
- Extract the six most important themes from your topic or text.
- Write these down the left hand side of the grid
- Create rapid thumbnails in response to each subject heading in turn
- Duration of exercise 1-hour
What happened
I started by identifying themes.
I took the themes into the visual chart.
The output formed the basis for further idea/image development.
